Studio portrait of 5461 Private (Pte) Frank Frederick Frerichs, 10th Battalion, wearing a tin, paper and celluloid 10th Battalion badge on his pocket flap. A paper cutter from Beulah Park, SA prior to enlistment, Pte Frerichs embarked with the 18th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Barambah on 27 June 1916. On 9 November 1916, aged 22, he died of wounds received in action and was buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe, France. His brother 2458A, Lance Corporal Jack Frerichs later died of wounds, also in France.
