Studio portrait of 3110 Private Charles Clapham Gregory, 59th Battalion from St Kilda, Victoria. A 30 year old solicitor prior to enlistment on 2 August 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 7th Reinforcements of the 21st Battalion from Melbourne on 18 November 1915 aboard HMAT Wiltshire. He was killed in action at Fleurbaix, France on 19 July 1916 and is buried in Aubers Ridge British Cemetery, Aubers, France.
