Studio portrait of 1569 Lance Coporal (L Cpl) James Thomas Lilburne, 5th Battalion. A coach trimmer and motor mechanic from Birchip, Victoria, prior to enlistment he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Runic on 19 February 1915 for Egypt. L Cpl Lilburne was killed in action at Gallipoli on 18 July 1915. He was aged 21 years.
