Description

Informal portrait of 768 Private (Pte) Ronald McLeod, 15th Battalion. A labourer from Toowoomba, Qld prior to enlistment, Pte McLeod embarked with E Company from Melbourne on HMAT Ceramic on 22 December 1914. After being wounded in action at Gallipoli he contracted enteric fever and was evacuated to Mudros, where on 10 July 1915, aged 26, he succumbed to his illness and was buried in the East Mudros Cemetery, Lemnos.
