Studio portrait of 2720 Private (Pte) Roy Harry Nebbitt (also known as Nebbit), 24th Battalion. A labourer from North Devon, Vic prior to enlistment, Pte Nebbitt embarked with the 6th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Ulysses on 27 October 1915. On 28 July 1916 he was killed in action at Pozieres, aged 22, and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
