Studio portrait of 122 Private (Pte) Frederick John Peck, 6th Battalion, in civilian clothes. Pte Peck, a cabinet maker from Balaclava, Vic prior to enlistment, embarked with A Company from Melbourne on HMAT Hororata on 19 October 1914. Originally reported as missing, a later Court of Inquiry determined that he had been killed during the Gallipoli landing on 25 April 1915, aged 22. He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Turkey
