Studio portrait of 650 Corporal (Cpl) William George Pennington, 6th Battalion. An iron moulder from Carlton, Vic prior to enlistment, Cpl Pennington embarked with the rank of Private with E Company from Melbourne on HMAT Hororata on 19 October 1914. He was wounded in action at Gallipoli and on 20 September 1917 was killed in action in Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial.
