Studio portrait of 1606 Trooper (Tpr) Thomas Dunkley Price, 8th Australian Light Horse regiment. A labourer from Moorabbin, Vic prior to enlistment, Tpr Price embarked with the 12th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915. Later transferring to the 11th Field Artillery Brigade with the serial number 1606A, he was originally mustered as a Gunner, then as a Driver. On 2 June 1918, aged 30, he was killed in action and was buried in the Blangy-Tronville Communal Cemetery, France.
