Studio portrait of 23270 Gunner (Gnr) Guy Walter Ralston, 113th Howitzer Battery. A native of Bulls, New Zealand, Gnr Ralston was a farmer from Toowoomba, Qld prior to enlistment and embarked with the 3rd Reinforcements, 21st Howitzer Brigade from Sydney on HMAT Ajana on 5 July 1916. On 4 October 1917, aged 28, he died of wounds received in action and was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
