Studio portrait of 4301 Private Ernest Gilmore Reeves, 6th Battalion from Korumburra, Victoria. A 26 year old labourer prior to enlisting on 29 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 13th Reinforcements from Melbourne on 29 December 1915 aboard HMAT Demosthenes. He was killed in action on 4 October 1917 near Passchendaele, Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium.
