Studio portrait of 6511 Sergeant Frederick Richard Sergeant, 11th Battery, 4th Australian Field Artillery Brigade from Prahran, Victoria. A 21 year old warehouseman prior to enlistment on 19 August 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 4th Field Artillery Brigade from Melbourne on 18 November 1915 aboard HMAT Wiltshire. He was killed in action at Flers, France on 17 November 1916 and is buried in the AIF Burial Ground, Grass Lane, Flers.
