Description
Studio portrait of 36539 Gunner Harold Victor Walters, 7th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) from South Brisbane, Queensland. A 24 year old accountant prior to enlisting on 2 November 1916, he embarked for overseas with the 29th Reinforcements from Sydney on 5 November 1917 aboard HMAT Port Sydney. On arriving in France, he joined the 25th Battery of the 7th FAB and was killed in action on 31 August 1918 at Suzanne in the Somme River Valley. He is buried in the Suzanne Military Cemetery No 3, France.
