Studio portrait of 2465 Private Charles Littlebury Webb, 9th Battalion, of Brisbane, Qld. Son of Edmund and Emily Mowbray Webb, Gladeville, NSW. A tailor's cutter prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Shropshire (A9) on 20 August 1915. He was killed in action on 23 July 1916 in France, aged 35. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers Bretonneux Memorial, France.
