Studio portrait of 3255 Private John Hamilton Wilson, 57th Battalion. A 27 year old clerk of Beechworth, Victoria prior to enlistment, he embarked on HMAT Medic on 16 December 1916 with the 8th Reinforcements. On 26 August 1917 he was killed in action in Belgium during the Third Battle of Ypres .
