Description

Studio portrait of 1472 Trooper Alfred Clive Wooster, 2nd Light Horse Regiment from Parramatta, NSW. A 19 year old student prior to enlisting on 15 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 11th Reinforcements from Sydney aboard HMAT Mashobra (A47) on 4 October 1915. While serving in the Middle East, he was wounded in action on 31 October 1917 and subsequently died from his wounds on 2 November 1917. He is buried in the Beersheba War Cemetery, Beersheba, Israel. His brother, 17 Staff Sergeant Eric David Wooster MID, Croix de Guere (Belgian) served in the 1st Australian Field Ambulance and returned to Australia. [See image H06190.]
