Madang, New Guinea. 1944 -10. A Sherman M4 medium tank (rear view) no T263413 at the top of Course no. 2 during tank tests at HQ 4 Armoured Brigade. The tank was being used in trials for the War Office to test the performance of Sherman and Churchill tanks in tropical conditions. This tank had flat rubber pad tracks fitted with 1 grouser per 5 track links.
