An address by Major-General Sir Charles Rosenthal regarding the lack of artillery support at the landing at Gallipoli, 1915
Description
This address was recorded for the Australian War Memorial as part of a program to record distinguished leaders of the war, 1914-18. Participants were invited to write a script of 800 words length, addressing a particularly memorable experience of their war service. The word limit was set because this is how much would fit onto one side of a 12 inch gramophone disc at a speed of 33 1/3rpm. The recordings were made and processed for the Memorial by various state offices of the ABC, as was most convenient for the participant.
