Interview with Major J S Rowe, General Staff Officer Grade 2 (Intelligence), (GSO2(Int)), Headquarters 1st Australian Task Force, Vietnam (HQ 1ATF), 1966. Interview covers: personal military background; experience; adequacy of HQ 1ATF Intelligence staff; working relationships - staff and other HQ; usefulness of allied and 1ATF intelligence; the enemy in Phuoc Tuy province and civilian support; problems with No 9 Sqn RAAF; the minefield - the horseshoe to Lang Phuoc Hai; usefulness of a third battalion; SAS patrol tasking; AATV assistance with intelligence.
