Osborne, George Hamlyn (Lance Corporal, b.1909 - d.1954)
Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of VX42980 Lance Corporal George Hamlyn Osborne, 2/23 Infantry Battalion. Collection consists solely of black and white photocopies. The first is a copy of a 'wartime log', kept by Osborne while a prisoner of war of the Germans in Oflag VA in Weinsburg, Germany. It contains commentary, poetry, illustrations, music, stories, photographs, menus and other souvenirs. The second item is similar with the exception of photographs. The third item is a photocopy of a cloth banner embroidered with '2/23 Battalion' and the signatures of various POWs.
