The logbook records Moodie's flying training in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom under the Empire Air Training Scheme, his qualification as a flying instructor, postings to No. 1534 Beam Approach Training Flight and No. 1 Staff Pilot Training Unit, his conversion to the de Havilland Mosquito, posting to No. 464 Squadron RAAF on bomber operations over Europe, and transfer to No. 308 Maintenance Unit RAF in India.
