Description

Collection relating to the Second World War service of Gwen 'Skipper' Rowe, Audrey Lynch (nee Lehmann), Clarice 'Gomer' Thomson and Betty Freebairn (nee Rayson), Australian Women's Land Army, Australia, 1942-1945.

Collection consists of four typed manuscripts. All appear to have been written in the 1980s, and describe their individual experiences as members of the Australian Women's Land Army. Each of the manuscripts discuss issues such as notable incidents in their time, as well as general details regarding the work that they undertook, their enlistment, their work prior to joining the Australia Women's Land Army, their accommodation, working with POWs, different crops they harvested, and their social lives during their service.
