Collection relating to Matron Muriel Knox Doherty, AANS and RAAF Nursing Service, First and Second World Wars.
Collection consists of:
Items 1-5: Five diaries written between 1939 and 1945.
Item 6: WW2 AANS scrapbook containing personal papers, official records, badges of rank, buttons, greeting cards, souvenirs, newscuttings and photographs.
Item 7: WW2 RAAF Nursing Service scrapbook containing personal papers, official records, badges of rank, chevrons, buttons, honours, service papers, greeting cards, souvenirs, newscuttings and photographs (includes history and photographs of medical Air Evacuation Unit)
Item 8: WW2 VAs and AAMNS scrapbook containing official records, correspondence, newscuttings and souvenirs.
Item 9: WW1 scrapbook mainly concerning voluntary organisations including Doherty's service as a VAD, personal papers, booklets, souvenirs, buttons (Button Day Appeals) and photographs.
Item 10: Photograph album inscribed "Presented to Matron Hetherington as a token of esteem from boys of Reinga, August 20th 1916".
Item 11: Sixteen letters to and/or from Doherty.
