Hodgson, Aubrey Wilfred Donald (Chief Petty Officer), MBE
Description
Handwritten copy of notes and experience written by Chief Petty Officer Hodgson who was a signalman and telephonist aboard the Aorangi - it covers the period August 1914 to October 1915 and includes service in New Guinea and the Pacific, then service in the Atlantic Ocean with descriptions of action in the Falklands and West Indies. It appears to have been compiled sometime after the war. Also included were copies of a newscutting titled: "A tragic story on Rear Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock", from the Sydney Morning Herald, 1 November 1935. As of May 2011 these copies were missing from the collection. Digital copies can be found on Trove at http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article17207397.
