Herbertson, William (Flight Sergeant, b.1911 - d.1944)
Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of 424555 Flight Sergeant William Herbertson, No. 460 Squadron, RAAF. Collection consists of a five page extract of a letter written by Flight Sergeant Herbertson describing a daylight air raid made on a power station at Knapsack, Germany, dated 13 October 1941. Also consists of a diary extract written by Flight Sergeant Herbertson while in hospital in New York, written between 21 December 1943 and 22 January 1944. Flight Sergeant Herbertson was killed in a flying battle in Germany on 21 November 1944.
