Description

Collection relating to the Second World War service of 28055 Corporal Harold Wake Andrews, No. 460 Squadron, RAAF. Consists of one original handwritten diary written on return from the United Kingdom to Australia via the United States. Corporal Andrews was invalided back to Australia and stayed over in Westport, Connecticut en route home. Also consists of a paybook, service related papers and newspaper cuttings relating to Corporal Andrews service. Amongst the service related papers is an extract from a log book, and on the reverse of the log entry is written “Taken from ‘R’ 460 Squad. The day after she was shot up 5/4/42”.
