Lane, William John (Able Seaman, b.1894)
Description
Detailed diary written on a regular basis, accounting for the voyage to German New Guinea, opposed landing at Rabaul and eventual garrison duties at Herbertshohe. Also includes various personal service papers and printed material including: "Australians In Action", "How Australia Took German New Guinea" , "The Government Gazette" and newspaper clippings.
