Thompson regarding Stevenson's service with the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force for the book "Double Time: Women in Victoria, 150 Years". It details Stevensons work between June 1941 when she was appointed as Director of the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force [WAAAF], and March 1946 when she retired. She discusses her early life and schooling, an Officer training scheme that she introduced in the WAAAF, her experiences during the Second World War, and her work regarding women's post-war issues.
