Description
Relating to Sister Frances May Hayman who was in charge of thge Mission Hospital at Gona.
[item 1] Photocopied typescript of letter from May Hayman to her sister Vi Waterman, 4/8/1942. This was the last letter sent to the family. Written from a 'bush hideout', she describes her flight from the Japanese.The original handwritten letter is held in 3DRL/5092.
[item 2] Original and photocopied newspaper cuttings on the death of Sister May Hayman.
[item 3] Photocopied book extract from 'All For Christ' looking at May's work and her death at the hands of the Japanese in 1942.
