Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant Everard Digges La Touche, 2 Battalion, Gallipoli, 1915. History / Summary
Biographical note: 2 Battalion, mortally wounded 6 August 1915 in the attack on Lone Pine, ANZAC. Clergyman (Church of England) of Sydney, NSW. Born Newcastle, County Down, Ireland, 14 March 1883. Enlisted AIF as a private and held position as acting Sergeant 13 Battalion, until 22 November 1914; from 27 December 1914 to 8 May was acting Sergeant at Liverpool Depot (NSW), and during this period, he attended Officer's School of Instruction at Marrickville, NSW (8 February - 6 March); was appointed Second Lieutenant 10 May 1915 and embarked with reinforcements in June 16 reaching ANZAC on the night of the Lone Pine battle.
