Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of 1509A Private David Gibson Alexander, 13 Battalion, Egypt and Gallipoli, 1915. Collection consists of typewritten copies of letters written to his mother which describe the voyage over to Egypt, training and guard duty at No 1 Australian Field Hospital, and artillery action at Gallipoli. Typewritten copies made 1927 by Australia House, London at Memorial's request. Bound into file cover. Location of originals unknown. Pte Alexander died on 15 August 1915 from wounds received at Gallipoli.
