Anonymous Australian soldier
Description
Diary purportedly kept by an Australian soldier during the Second World War at Naoetsu prisoner of war camp, Japan. The diary was issued by the Japanese to highlight the quantity and quality of rations and the general well being of prisoners in their care. The diary was produced to provide a favourable impression of Japanese POW arrangements, although contained in it are references to Australian deaths in captivity.
