Avenue of Honour Memorial, Macleod VIC (No. 16 AGH, No. 14th Aah, No. 1 Military Sanatorium)
Description
A commemorative booklet titled "Avenue of Honour Memorial, Macleod" compiled by Macleod Progress Association Incorporated. The booklet relates to the unveiling and dedication of the Avenue of Honour Memorial which took place on 23 April 1990. The Memorial was place to recognise an avenue of trees planted at the end of the First World War and nurtured by the patients of No 16 Australian General Hospital, Mont Park to honour their fallen comrades. The booklet contains background information, invitation, souvenir programs, details and photographs and report of the ceremony, as well as a biographical sketch of a former patient, W N (Bill) Gothard. Also included is a brief history of the military hospitals at Mont Park, Macleod, 1916-1924.
