Description
Collection relating to the service of 1618 Private Arthur More Simpson, 13 Battalion, AIF, Gallipoli, 1915. Collection consists of one newspaper clipping [published in The Manchester Guardian, late May 1915] the heading of which reads, '"The first bayonet thrust' / from Private A M Simpson, 13th Australian Battalion, writing to his parents at Fairfield."
History / Summary
Biographical note: 1618 Private Arthur More Simpson, 13 Battalion, AIF, who died of broncho-pneumonia on 17 June 1918. Other biographical details concerning him are: electrician, of Sydney, born Manchester, England, came to Australia when 28 years old, age at time of death, 39.
