Description
RECOLLECTION OF ONE OF THE VOYAGES FROM DARWIN TO TIMOR BY HMAS VIGILANT IN OCTOBER 1942. PURPOSE WAS TO FERRY SUPPLIES TO AUSTRALIANS STILL FIGHTING ON TIMOR. SICK AND WOUNDED AND TWO BRITISH INTELLIGENCE OFFICERS WERE EVACUATED. ALSO MENTIONS THE "KURU", HMAS VOYAGER IN BETANO BAY, AND CAPTAIN BENNETT. ALSO ATTACHED IS A RECORD OF KNOWN CREW MEMBERS OF HMAS KALGOORLIE, 1941-1946.
