Description
Mint specimen Papua New Guinea Independence Medal (1975). The obverse shows the crowned head of Elizabeth II with the words 'ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D.'. The reverse shows a bird of paradise perched on a traditional two-headed drum and a spear, with the words 'PAPUA NEW GUINEA INDEPENDENCE 1975'. The medal is supended by a ring from an orange ribbon with yellow/white/black side stripes. Fitted with a brooch pin.
