Portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) David Russell Baxter 25th Battalion of Townsville Qld. A bookeeper in civilian life, he was born in Dundee, Scotland in 1880, and he enlisted on 8 Jan 1915. Lt Baxter was awarded a Military Cross (MC) in 1917. On 13 June 1918, Captain Baxter died of wounds sustained while fighting near Bonnay.
