Autographed good luck flag carried by Japanese soldier Abe Katsuya
Description
Printed artificial silk Japanese flag autographed in black ink characters. The characters along the hoist translate to the name of the owner, 'Abe Katsuya' and a prayer for everlasting good fortune in war. Below this are two names, Mitani Seizo and Imamoto Seiichi, two of the people who presented the flag to Abe. On the other side of the Rising Sun is the name of the Mitsubishi Fukagawa (Tokyo) metal working section and the head of the section, Inoue Shichiro.
