Kosciuszko, Pulaski
Description
This Second World War poster with Polish text reads; "Kosciuszko, Pulaski fought for freedom in America. Will you help America to fight for freedom in Poland? Eat less wheat - meat - fats - sugar, so we can help our brothers in the Allied Forces." Tadeusz Kosciuszko (1746-1917) and Kazimierz Pulaski (1746-1779) both fought in the American Revolutionary War (also known as the War of Independence), and were held up as exemplars in exhorting Polish Americans to eat less and thus contribute to the war effort. The poster was produced by the United States Consumer's Executive Committee.
