Description
An informal portrait of 1203543 Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Russell Stuart and his wife Debbie Stuart standing in front of the Central Market in Phnom Penh. The couple was married in Cambodia and, at the insistence of HRH Prince Norodom Sihanouk (who composed and dedicated a song to Debbie Stuart), the reception was held in the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, the first time that such an honour had been accorded to a foreigner. Lt Col Stuart's name is reproduced in the Khmer language above his left pocket. Lt Col Stuart was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross for his contribution to the planning for Australian participation in UN operations in Cambodia.
