Description
A Buddhist monk stops to chat with Heide Smith's Khmer driver in the Maung Russey district of Battambang Province, close to the site of a dam building project which is being funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), managed by Australian Catholic Relief (ACR) and which has pooled the resources of sixty families from three villages. The vehicle they have been travelling in is operated by UNHCR. Photographer Heide Smith and journalist Marje Prior visited Cambodia in January and August 1993 to document Australian involvement with UNTAC, later publishing a book entitled 'Shooting at the Moon - Cambodian Peacekeepers tell their stories'.
