Waste Not, Want not! Save the Nation's Bread
Description
Depicts a loaf of bread and the Union Jack as a backdrop to the slogan: 'Waste not want not! Save the Nation's Bread.' The Union Jack and the bread are brightly coloured, creating an unusually eye-catching poster from this particular series of posters produced by the British government which urges the populace to respect rationing. The Ministry of Food in Britain sought to preserve food for the war effort, and produced numerous posters on the subject matter.
