Description
Papers associated with the service of Lieutenant (Lt) Thomas Sealy Renshaw who enlisted with the 16th Battalion during the First World War as a Second Lieutenant. Lt Renshaw's three children, Corporal Natalie Renshaw, Private Phil Renshaw and Stuart Renshaw served in the Second World War. Items in the collection include letters, telegrams, service documents, menus and newspaper clippings covering both conflicts. Lt Renshaw wrote a number of detailed letters to his wife during leave in England in 1917. Other documents relate to Private Phil Renshaw's service with the 2/40th Battalion and later as a prisoner of war in Thailand in 1942.
