$5 for $4... Canada's War Savings Pledge
Description
First World War poster issued by the Canadian Government to sell war savings stamps. The image depicts a hand holding out three Canadian dollar bills, to the value of $5, set against a grey silhouette of skyline of Ottawa against a vibrant orange sunset. The text printed in red and black is integrated over the centre and across the bottom. A french language version of this poster was also produced (see ARTV00492).
