Description
Transcripts of seventeen diaries (books 1-18, book 8 never recovered) of Private Frank Wells (NX119119) of 2/48 Bn while serving on Morotai and Tarakan in 1945. Frank was killed in action on Tarakan, 24 May. Also included in the collection is a bound hardcover book containing a compilation of the writings of Frank's father, Sergeant Ernest Wells (NX13524) from 1935-1941. It comprises wartime short stories, poems and letters, mostly concerning service in the Middle East during the Second World War.
