Informal group portrait of four of the prisoner of war (POW) doctors and senior officers, believed to be in Fukuoka Camp No 7B, taken just after the Japanese surrender. Identified, left to right: unidentified RAF doctor; Squadron Leader (later Air Commodore) McCarthy, RAF; Flight Lieutenant R R McSwiney, RAF doctor; Dutch doctor Lieutenant 1 Alidus Theodorus Groot Wesseldijk. Note that the three RAF officers are all wearing rank insignia which was previously forbidden in the camp.
