Description
American Second World War poster depicting exaggerated caricatures of Adolf Hitler (1889–1945), the Austrian-born German politician and the leader of the Nazi Party. He was chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and dictator of Nazi Germany (as Führer und Reichskanzler) from 1934 to 1945 and Hideki Tojo (1884–1948), the general of the Imperial Japanese Army and the 40th Prime Minister of Japan during most of the Second World War from October 1941 to July 1944. As Prime Minister, Tojo was directly responsible for the attack on Pearl Harbor, which initiated war between Japan and the United States, although planning for it had begun before he entered office. Forests are depicted burning in the background of the poster.
