"Ammunition." and remember bonds buy bullets.
United States First World War poster promoting the sale of War Bonds. It features an image of a soldier with a rifle, machine gun and empty ammunition boxes, at the front, reaching out toward the viewer with his right hand as if asking for more bullets. The image set, against a yellow background, takes up the majority and is framed with text overlay ed across the top and bottom. This poster was most likely part of the Fourth Liberty Loan campaign which ran from 28 September - 19 October 1918. Vincent Lynch (1862-1935) was a commercial illustrator whose work appeared in 'American Magazine', 'Scientific American', 'Everybody’s Magazine', as well as other periodicals. Much of his work features cars, aircraft, and other vehicles. He exhibited with the Society of Washington Artists and the Washington Water Color Club in 1909. He would later illustrate posters in support of the First World War.
