Wedmore, England. Informal portrait of Lieutenant Commander Leon Verdi Goldworthy, GC DSC GM and Bar, RANVR. The smiling Goldsworthy is holding a fuse he has just removed from the German Type C aerial magnetic mine in the trench behind him. Goldsworthy was one of several Australians of the RANVR attached to the Enemy Mining Section at HMS Vernon.
