Studio portrait of 7840 Private (Pte) Stephen Grainger Rabone, 35th Battalion, AIF, of Townsville, Qld. Pte Rabone enlisted on 6 December 1917 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Nestor on 28 February 1918. He was killed in action on 22 August 1918, in France, aged 23.
