Portrait of NX66294 Sapper (Spr) Henry Clarence George Williams from Leichhardt, NSW, standing behind his theodolite while working in Dog River Gorge. Spr Williams enlisted on 11 Dec 1940 and served in the Middle East until 1 April 1944. The railway line between Beirut and Tripoli, built by the Australian Railway Construction and Maintenance Group, was opened on 20 December 1942.
